Downton Abbey Fans…

…get your tickets today, they are going fast.

OK, I admit it, I watched every minute (some more than once) of the most popular television drama in history. Everything about the series was “brilliant,” as the Brits would say.

My favorite part are the costumes. The craftsmanship, fabrics, and fittings are excellent. The designs are romantic and historically correct.

For the past several months, Lightner Museum in St Augustine Florida has been exhibiting 36 Downton costumes. The show has been given a brief extension until February 4th.

That makes it the perfect time for a quick weekend escape to St Augustine. See the Downton exhibit, then wander cobblestoned streets of this beautiful city. Have some hook-to-mouth seafood, and drink from the fountain of youth.

Immerse yourself in fashion and history in this acclaimed exhibition at the Lightner Museum. Dressing Downton™, a display of 36 authentic Victorian Era costumes and accessories from PBS’s most popular television drama in history, Downton Abbey®, is elegantly displayed in the museum’s Grand Ballroom Gallery. The museum is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for college students and seniors, $10 for 12-17-year-olds, and free for youth under age 12.
