Camille Parsons and Second Story Studios present the – 33rd Spring Dance Concert, June 20th and 21st. The program is an annual highlight for the dance community. Cotton Auditorium is the venue for this dance variety show. Showcasing over 150 dancers from the local area, performers aged 3 1/2 to adult will present Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Children’s Ballet. Local professionals, instructors, students and alumni are busily rehearsing under the direction of Camille Parsons. Music, costumes, makeup and lighting are being fine-tuned and polished. This is not a ‘dance recital’, but a staged, professional event. All aspects of the show are well-directed and beautifully performed. It is certain to be a unique and energizing concert that will appeal to all tastes.
Special guest stars include – Mendocino Dance Project, Kara Starkweather’s dance group, doing scenes from Sit With It. Justine Lemos will perform Batu Nritya, a dance from India. Nicole Fish from Trillium Tribe dances Contemporary Sword. James C. Humecky will solo in Glide and Contact. Anna Leach presents a Jazz dance. Jazmin Toscano + Three will present a Jazz performance. Tavi Hillesland appears in a Ballet solo from La Bayadere. Martine Lussier and Kamala Lance pump up the energy with Zumba Fitness. Serafina Andrews’ Children’s Ballet will perform Let Your Heart Dance which includes music from around the world. Second Story Studios top Ballet Instructor, Aline Jalfim, will present the ballet, Versailles, with music by Vivaldi. Heather Eccarius, Contemporary Point Instructor, will stage Secret and The Cage.
See the concert at Cotton Auditorium – 500 North Harold Street, Fort Bragg – on Saturday, June 20th at 8 pm and Sunday June 21st at 2 pm. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at Harvest Market, Fort Bragg or Twist in Mendocino. Tickets cost – adults $20, seniors $16 and kids (under 18) $12.
