OK, I admit it, I watched every minute (some more than once) of the most popular television drama in history. Everything about the series was “brilliant,” as the Brits would say.
My favorite part are the costumes. The craftsmanship, fabrics, and fittings are excellent. The designs are romantic and historically correct.
For the past several months, Lightner Museum in St Augustine Florida has been exhibiting 36 Downton costumes. The show has been given a brief extension until February 4th.
That makes it the perfect time for a quick weekend escape to St Augustine. See the Downton exhibit, then wander cobblestoned streets of this beautiful city. Have some hook-to-mouth seafood, and drink from the fountain of youth.
